Boat Show Tips
Going to a boat show can be a wise investment of resources and time if you go about it in the right way. To help you make the most of your time, check out these helpful boat show tips.

Investigate the Show

Do your research about the boat show so you can figure out the logistics. Besides needing to know where, when, and how to get there, it is also a good idea to see what is planned for the show. Knowing all of the logistics will help you properly prepare for the show, so take note. Having an idea of who is exhibiting ahead of time can help you come up with a game plan, allowing you to get the most of your time there.

Plan in Advance

Find and figure out what you are interested in buying in advance, this way you know what to concentrate on once you are at the show. Plus, by doing this, you can come fully prepared; all because you have done the needed research on your items of interest ahead of time. Believe us when we say there will be a lot of eye candy, so you might get distracted. You might take up a lot of time talking to dealers, so make sure you know who you want to see and hit your targets first.

Take Note of Any Questions

Do you have a watercraft or a few of them in mind, but you have some unanswered questions? Well, make sure you write them down before you go to the boat show. Don’t rely on your memory, because more than likely when the time comes, all those questions you wanted to ask already left your mind. Believe us, taking the time to write down your questions will come in handy when you are speaking to boat reps.

Dress Smart

Boat shows are often on or near the water, and we all know how unpredictable the weather can be. Particularly during the fall and winter season, temperatures can shift quickly when the sun goes into hiding. Ensure that you remain comfortable throughout the day by dressing in layers, so this way you can add or remove items as necessary. Also, be sure to wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing a bit of walking!

Take Notes

Make sure to take a notepad, a pen or pencil, and a camera. You may have information to write down, and you don’t want to be scrambling for pen and something to write on at the last second. Plus, you never know when you may want photo documentation. If you plan on getting pamphlets and brochures, make sure you bring a folder and bag to hold all of your items. Some vendors may have some swag to give out!

Bring Cash

While some vendors may accept credit cards, you will need cash to purchase tickets for the show. So come prepared by bringing some cash with you. Having some cash handy will make it easier when it comes time to buying treats because you will get hungry! Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot on hand, especially after buying the tickets, as there will be ATM’s on site.
