Original 30-Hour Certification for Category 5D – 4 days

February 24, 25, 28 and March 1, 2022

8:00 am – 4:30 pm each day

This class qualifies the candidate to take the DEC test in order to become a Certified Technician or Certified Applicator. Any business that performs bottom paint for customers must be registered by the DEC and employ a Certified technician or applicator. 

Location: Freeport – Staten Island Yacht Sales Office at 1 Woodcleft Avenue

Cost: $300 for NYMTA members, $400 for non-members

This fee includes all materials and books needed. 

Space is limited! All attendees must wear a mask and adhere to Covid-19 regulations!

2022 Recertification Credits

3 Credit class

March 4, 2022 – 830am to 1145am

Candidate will receive 3 credits towards renewal or upgrade from technician to applicator.

Cost: $75 NYMTA members, $100 non-members

2 Credit Class

March 3, 2022 – 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Candidate will receive 2 credits towards renewal or upgrade from technician to applicator.

Cost: $50 NYMTA Members, $75 non-members

Space is limited. All attendees must wear a mask and adhere to Covid 19 regulations. 

Location is 1 Woodcleft Ave – SI Yacht Sales – use EB Elliots lot.

*Certified applicators need 5 credits every 3 years to renew license. Credits can be received in one year. You cannot take the same class within one year. The 2 credit and 3 credit classes are separate classes and both will count towards renewal.
